Tim and Judd welcome Joanne Leppanen, Executive Director of the RI Patient Advocacy AssociationRIPAC was founded in 2003 on the principle that patients whose doctors recommend medical marijuana should have safe access to this medicine.  They organized patient testimony that led to the 2006 passage of the Medical Marijuana Act, and the 2007 amendment making the Act permanent.  Since, then they have held monthly meetings to connect the patient community.  Joanne discusses patient access issues in Rhode IslandRhode Island recently received a federal letter from US Attorney General Peter Neronha, which has delayed the implementation of compassion centers slated to open this summer in Warwick, Providence, and Portsmouth.  Joanne Leppanen discusses why this is a problem for patients in Rhode Island.  To learn more visit www.ripatients.org.

Steve Bloom, Publisher of Celebstoner discusses Saturday’s Cannabis Peace March and Rally in NYC.  Steve discusses the history of the marijuana arrest issues in NYC and why it is such a huge problem today.  In 2010, 50,000 people in NYC were arrested for low level marijuana possession.  This cost NYC 75 million dollars.  Almost 70% of those arrests consisted of people under 30 years old and 86% consisted of minorities.  This is a huge problem that needs immediate attention in NYC.  Steve Bloom also discusses the latest Willie Nelson Teapot Party news and their upcoming endorsement of Gary Johnson for president.  Tune in for more details!

Matt Cote, co-creator of IStrainGuide , joins us this week and takes us back to the 1970′s when President Richard Nixon declared the War on Drugs and marijuana became a schedule I narcotic.  Matt discusses the hypocrisy surrounding this issue and how American’s were brainwashed with false propaganda surrounding marijuana use and how it still impacts our society today.
